Moscow, 1960. Doctors are reporting an outbreak of smallpox in the capital, a deadly and incurable disease that was believed to have been eradicated in the USSR. The KGB assigns Colonel Shilov, for whom smallpox is more than just a diagnosis, to combat the epidemic. The hero must locate all the infected individuals and stop the spread of the virus at any cost, even if it means delving into the criminal underworld and exposing its dangerous inhabitants.
