An archaeological revolution has been taking place over the last 15 years and technology is at its beating heart. Archaeologists once excavated ancient ruins with little more than oral texts, haphazard plans, and aerial photographs to guide them. This series explores the massive changes technological innovation has brought to the discipline. It is now pushing the boundaries of archaeological discovery and our understanding of what once was. Thanks to the development of drones, lidar, radar, 3D technology and more, each episode brings a variety of archaeological finds to life and explores how groundbreaking research is casting a new light on ancient civilizations.
