The sudden arrival of new Detective Constable Leila Hussain sets local tongues wagging – what brings this big city girl to the sleepy seaside town of Port Devine? It's clear that handsome duty inspector Finn O'Hare knows – and that Leila is fleeing serious danger in England. It's also clear that Finn and Leila will struggle to hide the truth from Finn's nosey but well-meaning mother Concepta and seasoned Sergeant Marlene.

When a burglar claims he saw a dead woman in a farmhouse, Leila and Finn call on elderly couple Gerard and Brenda Smith. Gerard claims Brenda is abroad, but Leila smells a rat. Finn warns Leila to tread carefully; being heavy handed with a well-loved neighbour could alienate the locals.

As Leila waits to hear if Callum has blown her cover, taxi-driver Barry drives into a young woman who flees the scene of the accident. Barry's bad day gets worse when Concepta spreads rumours about his ‘dangerous driving'.

Leila is horrified that her ‘old friend' Rafid has turned up in Port Devine, but she paints on a smile and greets him with open arms. Like everyone else, a jealous Callum assumes Rafid is Leila's ex-boyfriend from England. Rafid's all smiles with the locals, but he's edgy and bitter with Leila. Has he come to Port Devine for some sort of revenge? Finn is worried that Marlene's snooping into Leila's past may have blown her cover, so he's alarmed when he discovers that mysterious Rafid has turned up.

It's Clint and Nicole's wedding day, but best man Finn and bridesmaid Leila are busy investigating the theft of some much loved ‘therapy sheep'. Finn's 15-year-old daughter Niamh is back for the wedding. Now that she lives in Belfast with her mum, Niamh dismisses Port Devine as boring – until she breaks down and admits to Leila that she really wants to come home.

Former Judge Ginette Prince sent a lot of dangerous people to prison in her time so, when someone sets fire to her home, the police officers wonder if the motive is revenge. However, Ginette's been retired for years and the criminals she put away are no longer a threat, so vengeance seems unlikely.

When his wife's former lover is arrested for assault, Finn can't hide his jealous feelings – which makes Leila wonder if she's made a terrible mistake.

Ex-lovers Finn and Leila are thrown together again when his daughter Niamh goes missing. Finn is taken aback when Siobhan reveals that Niamh had an older boyfriend back in Belfast – has she gone to see him? The stakes are raised when Callum finds CCTV of Niamh being taken away in a van on the way home from her friend Joanne's house.

When Pastor Gray reports his farmhand Donal missing, Marlene and Callum make a gruesome discovery in a slurry pit. Forensic evidence suggests that Donal's death was no accident, so the police officers ask his sister if she can think of anyone who might have wanted to harm her brother. She points the finger straight at Pastor Gray; her dead brother was gay and Pastor Gray is violently homophobic.

Callum discovers that his girlfriend has been telling him a pack of lies. Meanwhile, Finn faces the most difficult decision of his life.

Niamh and Shay are partying on the beach when a hooded figure rugby-tackles a lad to the ground. The figure reveals himself as Niamh and Shay's dad, Inspector Finn O'Hare; he saw the lad trying to sell drugs to the kids. As Marlene sabotages an undercover investigation, Nicole is desperate to be a mum.

Inspector Finn and new detective Al attend the scene of a shooting – an event unheard of in sleepy Port Devine. Someone has fired a bullet through retired headmaster Eugene McManners' front door. Meanwhile Marlene goes the extra mile for her best friend Nicole, alienating stepdad Barry in the process.

When an ATM machine is stolen, new detective Al crosses a line to save someone he loves. Meanwhile, Finn struggles to cope – and has a difficult conversation with Siobhan.

When a car is pulled from Port Devine harbour, the whole town searches for a missing mother. Meanwhile, Al kisses someone he shouldn't.

As the police officers fight to secure a grieving daughter's birthright, Al does something truly terrible to save his daughter's skin.

Sparks fly when Marlene meets an outspoken farmer who hates the police. Meanwhile, a stressed-out Finn is pushed to breaking point.

Marlene is faced with a problem when some prize-winning racing pigeons are stolen – she's allergic to birds. As a result, Al and Callum investigate the theft. They soon discover that the owner, Hugh McCoy, has been diagnosed with ‘Pigeon Lung' – a rare condition that could kill him. His long-suffering wife Susan reckons that the person who stole the birds has done Hugh a favour.

Still reeling from the state she found her dad in last night, Niamh suggests he might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder following his car crash. A furious Finn flies off the handle – Niamh doesn't know what she's talking about.

Finn is away receiving treatment for his PTSD, so Concepta takes his place on a fishing trip with Shay and Barry. Their pleasure cruise goes horribly wrong, however, when the boat's engine explodes – and crew member Brendan is seriously injured.

Detective Constable Al Quinn is in trouble. Callum has told Finn that Al is a corrupt cop. Al manages to convince Finn that Callum is mistaken, but things go from bad to worse when Jake McGrade assaults a security guard and steals a million pounds worth of whiskey from the Port Devine distillery.

Police Inspector Finn's world is blown apart when he finds out that Concepta has a secret.

With the pub a smoking ruin, Clint suspects that the fire-starter is someone close to home. Meanwhile things between Callum and new detective Jo get hot and heavy.

Nicole's not pleased when Clint's dodgy brother Sly arrives in Port Devine, determined to get their country & western band back together. Marlene makes a life-changing decision.

Shay survives a near miss with a maverick motorcyclist which leads the police officers into an investigation involving a bag of cannabis, a champion boxer and the northern lights.

When a house is burgled during the owner's funeral, the police soon identify a suspect. Their identity will rock Port Devine to its foundations.

Concepta is back in town, determined to ignore the fact that she's not Finn's birth mother – and carry on like nothing has changed. Will Finn be able to live with that?

When a dementia patient goes missing, the officers find themselves uncovering a tale of shipmates and stolen treasure. Callum discovers the real reason Jo came to Port Devine.

As Callum and Jo investigate whether a stag do prank has gone tragically wrong, Jo faces a heart-breaking decision. Clint storms out, driving Nicole into the arms of another.

When a new landowner threatens to cut down Port Devine's much-loved ‘Raggedy Tree', her plans are met with vandalism, burglary and a protest – in the form of Niamh and Ash chaining themselves to the tree.

When Siobhan's car is stolen, Marlene spearheads the investigation – despite the fact she's got the day off to get married. Is the bride-to-be just suffering from pre-wedding nerves or is she realising that she's made a terrible mistake?Marlene's uncle Barry is also stressed out. He's worried the church authorities will find out he's officiating at an unauthorized same-sex wedding blessing. Little does he know that Nicole has invited the bishop.

Detective Jo has been following orders and staying away from Louise Halbridge – until Louise's son turns up in Port Devine with a gun. When Louise grabs her son and skips town, Jo is sure that she's finally going to be able to prove that Louise is a killer. But events don't turn out as the detective is expecting.

When rookie cop Ryan discovers a burglary at his brother's house, he calls in Marlene for help. Marlene is sure there's something funny going on – and she's proved right when Ryan's brother admits that there was no burglary, he was in the process of leaving his wife. As Ryan discovers what has really been going on in his brother's seemingly happy marriage, he's forced to reconsider the way he's been treating his girlfriend Niamh – and to make a momentous decision.

A new taxi business has opened in Port Devine. When one of the cars is destroyed in an arson attack, Finn is worried by the fact that the owner's father has an extensive criminal record. Is this some sort of revenge attack? And does it mean that organised crime is moving into the sleepy seaside town in the guise of Aidan Hunter?

When Aidan Hunter's brand-new boat is stolen, Inspector Finn takes an active interest in the case. Aidan is bemused by the special treatment, little knowing that Finn's ulterior motive is to find out just what sort of man Aidan really is. When the boat thieves are finally arrested, Aidan is unexpectedly magnanimous and forgiving. This gives Finn all the answers he needs – leading him to make a life-changing decision.

The town prepares for the annual horse race on the beach – only to discover that a prize-winning racehorse has been stolen. As the investigation gets underway, Finn is getting used to having both his birth parents in his life. But any positive feelings are short-lived. Faced with a desperate personal situation, Finn's father asks him to make a piece of evidence disappear. Finn is sympathetic but refuses to compromise himself.

New police inspector Eve Dunlop hits the ground running when she discovers that a much-loved Port Devine resident has been kidnapped. When Eve finds out that corrupt cop Al Quinn is also in town, she is sure the two events are connected.Meanwhile, Clint and Nicole are keeping her pregnancy top secret – they are worried that Constable Callum McCarthy will discover he could be the father.

When a local man tries – and fails – to break into the safe at a Port Devine pub, the police wonder what he was after. The plot thickens when the officers discover that ex-criminal Aidan Hunter is desperate to get into the same safe – is Aidan worried the contents will incriminate him somehow?

Port Devine is reeling after the sudden death of its best loved citizen – Barry Pettigrew. But grief turns to outrage when someone uses Barry's car and police uniform to rob a vulnerable pensioner. Marlene suspects her mother Gloria – recently returned and staying at Barry's house – is involved, but she swears she's innocent. Could Gloria really have stooped so low?

When Alfie – the son of a renowned artist – is found unconscious, Marlene arrests his sister on suspicion of assault. As Marlene tries to work out why the siblings have fallen out, their mother causes a scene in The Commodore. She sees Lois putting one of her husband's paintings into a jumble sale and freaks out.

When Cian Flannery is pushed into the harbour, Clint bravely jumps in to save him. As Eve and the team work hard to find out who pushed Cian into the water, Luke makes a startling discovery. It's clear that his stepson Ross knows Cian, but he lies about it – what has Ross got to hide? Pregnant Nicole has organised a gender reveal Party, but her husband Clint doesn't turn up.

When heavily pregnant Nicole is caught up in a hit-and-run, her waters break and she's rushed to hospital. Ryan attends the scene of the accident – and is amazed to find his girlfriend Brandi out for an unlikely stroll. Did Brandi have something to do with this?

When a popular antique dealer is shot with an air rifle, Marlene and Callum tell his archaeologist girlfriend the bad news. She reveals that she called 999 last night when someone tried to steal a hoard of ancient coins from her archaeological dig. Could the two incidents be connected? Nicole brings her new baby home to The Commodore, but she can't agree with Clint and Callum what to call him.

Eve has a crisis on her hands when troubled Brandi abducts Nicole's baby. As the whole town prays for the baby's safe return, Eve's stepdaughter Chloe risks her own safety by getting into the car that Brandi is driving. When Chloe refuses to get out, Brandi drives off – with Chloe and the baby. Where is Brandi headed – and why has she taken Nicole's child?

The whole town has turned out for a half-marathon. When an under-prepared Clint collapses, Port Devine's newest police officer – hunky ex-rugby player Donal – carries him over the finish line. Clint needs a doctor, so glamorous GP Sasha hurries over to assist, and the attraction between herself and Donal is instant. But as the pair help Clint towards Sasha's car, the vehicle explodes. 

When the local head teacher is threatened, new boy Donal takes charge of the investigation – and Chloe worries that her secret boyfriend is the culprit. Lois spots Luke with a woman. She warns Eve to take care of her marriage, leaving Eve wondering if Luke's having an affair. Meanwhile, Lois has problems of her own as she faces a health scare. Seamie gets news that his wife wants to meet up with him, but will it be good news or bad? Clint is still refusing to give Brandi her job back. So, when a bus load of pensioners descends on the bar, Nicole comes up with a cunning plan to change Clint's mind. Will Clint fall for it? Donal and Ryan are called out to a shooting. When they discover who the victim is, they're horrified. 

The community is shocked that one of their own has been shot. As Marlene heads up the investigation, Chloe's boyfriend Shane confesses that he pulled the trigger. But some of his account doesn't ring true. Is Shane lying – and, if so, why? When Eve discovers that Chloe has been seeing Shane in secret, she's furious. Then she finds out that Marlene advised Chloe to keep the relationship secret – and feels doubly betrayed. 

When one of the lads in a local rugby team is attacked, Donal wonders if it's a case of jealousy between the players, or whether there's something more serious going on. Marlene and Eve aren't getting on, so when Marlene sees Eve's husband looking intimate with another woman, she wonders what she should do. Then Eve pushes her over the edge… In the pub, Brandi's plan to wind Clint up falls flat, but she has the last laugh when she discovers Clint's got himself into serious trouble. Will Brandi tell Nicole? Donal is faced with a terrible choice. He knows that seeing Sasha is against the rules, but can he resist her?

When a classic car is stolen from a local showroom, it looks like a disgruntled employee Aaron has taken his revenge after being sacked. The cops soon discover that bodybuilder Aaron has been displaying aggressive behaviour – has he been taking steroids?Donal is horrified when his secret girlfriend Sasha is implicated in the supply of the steroids; has Doctor Sasha been involved in criminal activity?Brandi thinks Clint should tell Nicole he's lost twenty five thousand pounds, but Clint is hoping he'll get the cash back before she finds out. Then Marlene spills the beans…Seamie has promised Lois a ‘bling' first date to remember. To no-one's great surprise, the day doesn't pan out as Seamie had planned.

When recently-widowed Judith is assaulted she gives the police a description of her attackers, but something about her account doesn't ring true. Then the officers discover that a mysterious stranger has been trying to track down Judith's son; are the two things connected?Doctor Sasha has been suspended from her job and is taking it out on her ex, Donal – which is breaking his heart.
