Detective Conan — Season 2024

This special is not a new or expanded story. Instead, it is a re-edited version of two previously aired episodes #983 and #984 originally broadcast in 2020, titled "Kid vs. Komei" two-parter.In the 2024 special, those episodes were combined into a single 1-hour special, with some brief new content added, primarily to help promote the 2024 theatrical movie, Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram (名探偵コナン 100万ドルの五稜星).

Takagi and Date and the Notebook Promise (Part One)

Conan, Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko, Haibara, and Detectives Takagi and Sato decipher the code Detective Date left in his notebook and arrive at café Poirot. They deduce the ransom handoff method described by the kidnapper based on information left at Poirot and successfully rescue Alan, the son of the vice president of a French car maker. The case seems resolved until they learn Alan was being held captive along with his friend Inukai Yuji. They must deduce the location where he is being held based on Alan's time in the car.

A job brings Conan, Ran, and Kogoro to a resort area in Gunma Prefecture, where they run into Inspector Yamamura investigating a case. Inoue Kohei was murdered by Rube Goldberg Machine, a device made up of a chain reaction of many simple gimmicks.

When the contraption that was used to kill the victim is found, the falling chimney incident at the resort area Conan, Ran, and Kogoro were visiting is investigated as a homicide. Several of the victim's acquaintances are staying nearby, so they go to question them. The victim's wife, the company's president and CEO, an old friend and shareholder, an investor with whom the victim had a rocky relationship, and the victim's mistress are all suspects. They discover one of the suspects is rather knowledgeable about the type of device found at the villa and becomes the prime suspect, but...

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro come across an Italian restaurant on fire. A nearby man rushes inside the building. In an attempt to stop him, Kogoro follows him inside, where he discovers a body. The police investigation identifies the victim as Head Chef Marcello. The man who rushed into the building was Akiyama the waiter. Later, the owner Kurasaka, his daughter Mariko, and the victim's wife Arisa arrive. The police believe a burglar broke into the closed restaurant and ran into the victim while he was cooking, but...

A man armed with a gun shows up in a residential neighborhood. He takes a woman hostage and holes up inside a nearby home. Conan and Kogoro rush to the scene after seeing the situation on TV. The police are confused by the culprit's nonsensical demands. The homeowner arrives and tells the police not to worry about breaking down doors or walls since the home is vacant and will be demolished the next day. While they're talking outside, two gunshots are heard from inside the house...

Chihaya and Jugo unexpectedly meet at a masquerade matchmaking party, but their reunion takes a deadly turn.

Chihaya and Jugo attend a matchmaking party, but the event takes an unexpected turn when a case unfolds. Conan helps uncover the truth while the two detectives' relationship draws some attention.

Ran steps in as a temporary karate instructor when the dojo's regular instructor is injured. Just as the class is ending, a scream is heard from the second floor.

While the boys relax at a hot spring, the girls happen to meet up at a snowy mountain resort. They are enjoying their day together, when they discover that strange pranks have been happening at the resort.

Detective Kogoro is asked to be the bodyguard of the owner of a high-end host club. On the first day of his duties, he finds the owner dead in his own pool. It looks like one of the members of his annual four-person class reunion may be responsible.

Conan accompanies Sonoko to the studio of a famous potter. While there, Conan discovers that one of his pottery pieces has been broken, and worse, that the piece was already sold! It will take Conan's skills in deductive reasoning to figure out the culprit.

Detective Kogoro is asked to investigate the damages and theft of a melon farmer's crops. While at the farm, there are several mysteries they will have to solve...

The kids assist Detective Takagi in trying to catch a murderer. They have to stakeout a bakery to try to find the culprit. Can they focus on solving the crime instead of focusing on pastries and sweets from the bakery?

Detective Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are in Gunma after solving a missing persons case when Detective Mori calls Detective Yamamura. Detective Yamamura asks Detective Mori for help with a murder that took place directly on the border between Gunma and Nagano.

Detective Yamamura's past holds a key to solve the mystery of the murder on the border between Gunma and Nagano. With the best detectives on the scene, can they solve this murder mystery? Did the victim leave any clues behind?

Ayumi is tired of so many peaceful days in a row and enlists the help of the Detective Boys to hunt for a case. Unfortunately, when one goes looking for trouble, that is exactly what they usually find...

Detective Kogoro is called upon by a beautiful client. Fortunately, Ran sends Conan with her father, since she knows he has a penchant for being blinded by pretty women...

A former grade school teacher confesses to committing a murder, but the more the police question him, the more questionable his testimony sounds.

While at a bookstore, Conan stumbles upon a note from a child named Kazuo who's been kidnapped. Conan is able to switch places with Kazuo, but will he be able to outwit the kidnappers and escape himself?

Conan helps the married couple that kidnapped Kazuo, doing his best to make sure that their child, Tetsuya, is safely reunited with them. But what fate lays in wait for Kazuo?

The Detective Boys are having lunch and talking about their favorite band, when they spot Kobayashi-sensei, Det. Chiba and Shukichi Haneda. Ayumi assumes they are on a triple date, but...

A poisoning occurs at the restaurant where Conan and the Detective Boys are dining, but without knowing how to plant the poison, the investigation grinds to a halt. Detective Kobayashi looks to Conan for advice…

At the venue for the "North American Flower Festival: Audition for the Role of the Lord," Mitsuhiko, Ayumi, and Genta encounter Makio Yuita and Kōzō Yuita, who are arguing. After Makio leaves, the remaining Kōzō explains that the two of them are brothers who happened to meet at the audition venue. 

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro visit the home of politician Reiko Mutsu. They are guided by her secretary, Shinji Inui, and wait inside the mansion, but Reiko doesn't appear for some time. Suddenly, Reiko's scream echoes through the mansion. 

Conan and the Detective Boys become acquainted with a kind man named Shojichi Aida. While heading to Aida's apartment, they encounter a quarrel between his neighbor, Nenji Kotakara, and the landlord, Teruyo Imaizumi. 

A stage play modeled after Kogoro and Heiji is being planned, and Conan and the others have come to Kyoto for a meeting. When they visit the director's home, they find the producer, stage manager, and scriptwriter there. 

Conan, Kogoro, and Heiji are at the home of the director, Kabumoto, for a meeting about a stage play. Present are also Momiji Ooka, who claims to be Heiji's fiancée, and Hyoe Kuroda, an officer from the Metropolitan Police Department. 

The Detective Boys are distressed to discover the flavor of popular ramen shop Ogataken's flavor has changed, so they head to the restaurant to investigate.

The Detective Boys help with the unveiling of a mobile police box car. While the vehicle is touring around, it is hijacked by some robbers, and everyone onboard is taken hostage.

Shigatsu Makabe comes to the Mouri Detective Agency with a request after malicious flyers began being posted on his own apartment condominium. Kogoro, who was conducting surveillance at the condominium, apprehends a suspicious young man, but... A few days later, a body is found in a unit of a luxury condominium. 

The Five Detective Girls come together yet again to solve a case while having a girls' day out, but this time, as ninjas. 

Kogoro receives a request from literary critic Takahiko Kamiyu: "I am planning to go to the countryside, so I would like you to stay home and watch over my house for three days." 

Conan and the Detective Boys visit the Edogawa Rampo Residence under the guidance of Ms. Kobayashi. Professor Goto, who manages the residence, learns about the Detective Boys and offers to guide them through the storehouse, which is not usually open to the public. 

While Conan and the Detective Boys are visiting the Edogawa Ranpo Residence with Kobayashi-sensei, a series of murders occur. Conan realizes the case isn't over yet and rushes to solve the crime before another victim can be killed, but the culprit is already closing in on their next target.

Conan visits Sera's hotel room at the Haido Hotel, lured in by the code used in the hotel serial bombing case. However, they realize the hotel they're at is the bomber's next target when they happen to be present when the next bomb threat is discovered.

With help from Haido Hotel's lawyer Kisaki Eri, Conan and Sera get their hands on the previous hotel bomber codes and narrow down the room with the bomb to six rooms. With the time limit approaching, will Conan and Sera be able to identify the culprit? 

While reading at Tamaki Book Cafe, the Detective Boys meet Komachi Ami, who accidentally sold a precious book that was a keepsake from her father.

While visiting an amusement park that's shutting down after 50 years, the Detective Boys run into Detectives Takagi and Chiba dressed as security guards. A jewelry store robber hid stolen goods in the park six years earlier, and their accomplice is coming to retrieve them before the park is torn down.
