Almost everything Lawrence does is done for some pub quiz-related reason thanks to his opinion that his vast reservoir of useless knowledge is the only thing he has going for him and he goes out of his way to display it on a daily basis. Six more wins will mean a whole year of unbroken triumph, but now they're a player short so Cathy asks her friend to join and Lawrence makes a mess of it.
