Simon is going camping and has given his mother a long list of essential requirements. In order to acquaint himself with the pitfalls ahead, he decides to spend the night under canvas in the back garden - while Sally worries about him from the comfort of the house.
Sally is determined to get Simon a new bicycle for his birthday and so offers to do extra hours at work. Once she has acquired the bike she then has the problem of keeping it a secret until the happy day...

When the boys start kidding Sally about her weight she takes it personally and ends up in a competition with Auntie to see who can lose the most weight in a fortnight.
