Dr Christian: Special Clinics — Season 1

In this episode, the doctors are tackling conditions related to negative body image. First through the doors are Paige and her partner Tom from the West Midlands. Paige has a chronic case of complex regional pain syndrome, which causes constant extreme pain to her legs, leaving her in agony. The extent and regularity of the pain has taken its toll on her self–esteem and relationship and has driven her to consider extreme measures to alleviate her suffering. Dr Christian believes there are more options that might offer Paige light at the end of the tunnel.

First through the doors are Nikki and her husband Iain. Nikki's been suffering from chronic obesity and her relationship is under tremendous strain. Christian believes there's more to the story than meets the eye and sets about trying to get to the root of Nikki's problem.Next into the clinic are Alex and his fiancé Lucy. Alex became a quadruple amputee after contracting the life threatening condition Strep A. After surviving the infection, his pain management regime has caused him to become dependent on his medication, which is affecting his relationship with his young son.Julie is in next with her sister Laura. Julie has been suffering from Post orthostatic tachycardia syndrome or POTS which has left her housebound and unable to stand up for more than a few minutes. The extremity of the chronic condition has left Julie unable to lead a normal life, but the in house POTS specialist has some ground-breaking techniques that could offer hope.Last but not least is Lisa, who's developed a protruding stomach after having three children with her husband Carlos. The condition has made Lisa highly self-conscious and has led to difficulties between her and her husband. Christian attempts to find the answers to solve both their physical and emotional issues and get their relationship back on track.

The doctors are treating heroes who've been so busy helping other people; they've forgotten to look after themselves.First through the doors are Mark and his wife Natalie. Former soldier Mark lost his leg in a live firing . accident whilst serving in the British Army. The constant pain around his stump has taken a serious toll on Mark and his relationship with his wife. Sara thinks one of the in-house specialists may be able to help.Nicole is a 999 call operator and young mum. Along with her husband Mark she's come to see Christian about a serious back problem which has troubled her for several years, leading to a near breakdown in her relationship with Mark.Next in are Jen and her husband Justin from Scotland. Jen has spent much of her life having surrogate babies for other families which has resulted in serious weight gain affecting Jen and her husband's happiness. Christian seeks to get to the root of Jen's weight problem to get the couple back on track.Finally, Tina and her partner Mark have come from Manchester to see Sara about Tina's acne scars. Tina works in a hostel for victims of domestic violence, helping women recover from devastating abuse but her own self-confidence is at rock bottom due to insecurities about the way she looks.

First into the clinic are Sarah and her husband Darren. Sarah's lost her sex drive and worries that if she doesn't start satisfying Darren's needs soon, he may find someone else who will. Christian considers a range of medical approaches to help get the couple back on track.Next in are Matt and Becky from Blackpool, Matt has a rare condition that makes having children extremely difficult. Both Matt and Becky dream of starting a family and are in desperate need of help. Sara gets one of the in-house specialists to look into the complex condition and try and find an answer.Taylor from Scotland is a former Miss Transgender Glasgow and recently had gender reassignment surgery. Since the surgery Taylor has developed a fear of having sex and worries that it could affect her new relationship with boyfriend Zak. They've both come to the clinic to ask for Sara's help.Last but not least is Sarah whose been suffering from long term severe stomach pain that she's not found an explanation for. She's come to the clinic with her partner Josh to see if Dr Christian can solve the mystery.

Dr Christian, Dr Sara and their team of top specialists are on hand to treat Lisa who suffers from a protruding stomach which is affecting her marriage and Nelly who has a rare skin disorder which can often lead a very low life expectancy.
